Tabrani Abby
Tabrani Abby graduated from Law Faculty of Sriwijaya University, South Sumatera. He joined YLBHI since June 2004 on ECOSOC Rights Division with position as Labour Rights Manager. He was active and very much involved in Labour and Migrant Worker Coalition in Indonesia. In 2006, He was chaired as Vice Chairperson in Operational field with the responsibility to organize duties of Human Rights Defender, Paralegal, and Volunteers that are in YLBHI. In 2007 until now, He is the Vice Chairperson for Internal field, that have duties make and doing several programs, activities, campaigns that are related with legal education for community and Advocate/Human Rights Defender. Besides that, he creates plans and programs for fundraising events.
Along with this, he also works as Program Manager for Community Legal Education Program that supported by Indonesian-Australian Legal Development Facility (IALDF). That program – that has been running for 3 years – includes some activities, such as: publishing Indonesia Legal Aid Handbook (print and electronic), poster-campaign, legal aid modules for Paralegal.
As an Advocate, He provides legal aid too. He gives consultation and or assist in law cases that is faced by the poor (client). On behalf of YLBHI/LBH propose to Indonesia Ministry of Law and Human rights the draft of legal aid bill, and as a member of drafter of the Government Regulation that regulates the obligation of each Advocate to give pro-bono legal aid services to the poor. Now, He is member of Communication team in Indonesia National Law Development Board (BPHN).
