Mr Andrew Crockett

Andrew Crockett has been CEO of the Legal Aid Commission of the Australian Capital Territory since December 2006. From 1996 to 2006 he was a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Law at Monash University, Melbourne where he taught legal skills and professional ethics, and supervised students in the Faculty’s clinical legal education program. Andrew’s earlier career was in legal aid, first in the Australian Legal Aid Office and later in the Legal Aid Commission of Victoria. He was Director of Legal Aid in Victoria from 1989 to 1995. His other appointments have included the Social Security Appeals Tribunal, the Family Law Council, and the Southern Health Human Research Ethics Committee. He was a board member and volunteer lawyer at Springvale community legal service for many years.
