MS ROBYN NICHOLAS

Robyn Nicholas as the Manager Grants, has managed legal aid service delivery for the Legal Services Agency in New Zealand since the Agency’s establishment in 2001. During that time she had responsibility for the implementation of the Legal Services Amendment Act 2006. This Act changed financial eligibility merits and interests of justice tests and increased requirements for legally aided people to repay some or all of their legal aid. The impact of the Act has been to increase the pool of people eligible for legal aid and the size of the Agency by about 40%.

Prior to working for the Legal Services Agency, Robyn has had 10 years management experience in the Social Services Sector. This included management of service delivery and policy development in both the Government and Not-For-Profit Sectors.
